Your privacy is very important to us. When you visit our website, contact us, participate in one of our programs or attend an event, or make a donation to support our activities, we are committed to protecting your privacy rights and your personal information.
Decoding Dyslexia Ontario is an entirely voluntary, parent-led organization. Rest assured your personal idenfiable information will never be sold or used for any other reason than the purpose it was submitted, nor will it be used without your consent. For example, visitors who comment on our blog are asked to provide a username and email address; that information will not be used for any other purpose without consent.
Decoding Dyslexia Ontario gathers two types of information through our Website:
- Personal information: We only collect personal identifying information when it is knowingly provided by visitors. This information can include name, e-mail address, mailing address and telephone number. In each case, we collect only as much information we need to fulfill the purpose of your interaction with us.
- Aggregate information: Our website uses cookies to help us identify and track usage of our website; we use this information to improve our website. Visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using our website. (A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns–it does not include any information that identifies an individual.)
Decoding Dyslexia Ontario volunteers and other representatives are aware of the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of personal information. Care is used in the disposal or destruction of personal information to prevent unauthorized parties from gaining access to the information.
